The Watersports Instructor The Watersports Instructor is responsible for daily trips and excursions, delivering a world class service and instruction to the members. *In the cover letter please confirm your location, availability and desired salary.* *Why this job is appealing for you?* **JOB SPECIFICATION** **Knowledge and Skills:** - Must hold a Instructor qualification in Kitesurfing with **minimum 3 years teaching experience** - Must be able to E foil, Wake Foil, Kite Foil and Wing Foil at a good level - Power Boat License is a MUST - PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) is an advantage - Minimum of 3 years' experience in the hospitality sector. - Organize water sports and dive containers and maintain the equipment - Must be First aid certified - Powerboat Level 2 or boat captain qualification as a minimum powerboat qualification **Skills and Abilities:** - Good judgment and decision making - Personable, approachable, creative, and adventurous - Experience in hospitality is preferred but not required - Taking care of all our members & guests needs - Ability to work flexible hours and on the weekends **LOCATION: BAHAMAS** **Environment: (Physical Job Requirements)** - Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying - This position requires physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching and standing - This position may require moving a variety of equipment. Should be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. - At times this position may be require continuous standing due to the demands in the work - This position will require the ability to drive a golf cart and boats and marine craft. ROLES AND RESPONCIBLITIES **Activities** - Attend morning and evening briefings - Store all OP and activity equipment in its' correct location. - Touching base and maintain enthusiasm with members on a daily basis, encouraging activities and putting into place all necessary preparations for the trips and excursions to provide World class service and instruction. - Facilitate and instruct members and staff in the activities and sports bakers bay offer which you are experienced and/or qualified in. - To ensure member and staff safety at all times. Refer any requests regarded as unsafe or any guests refusing to cooperate on safety issues to management. - Ensure that all Diving, kitesurfing, wakeboarding and wake surfing, paddle boarding and any other related equipment are maintained in excellent working order. Effect repairs as necessary. - Coordinate orders to ensure necessary parts are obtained following standard PO procedure as well as following set budget guidelines. - Ensure all monthly safety checks are carried out & followed up and logged on the system for all watersports equipment. - Ensure correct presentation of the OP department areas, ensuring that it is clean, organized and professional. Make sure that all equipment is secured at the end of each day. Make sure that equipment is accounted for and that all members are safely ashore. Conduct guest count as required. - Assist in other OP services as required, including Running and beach club duties, and assist with any duties that may be requested by your manager or supervisors - Monthly and daily checks on equipment and advising management of any discrepancies **Boats** - Strictly adhere to the safety protocol for the boats and OP Department - Drive the power boats for member excursions, transfers and snorkel trips in accordance to the guidance and directions given by the management and the power boat protocol. - Ensure correct boats are used for correct purposes. - Ensure the boat fleet's regular maintenance is carried out and recorded. - Ensure the boat fleets regular safety checks are carried out and recorded. Any concerns with potentially faulty equipment must be reported to management and taken off the vessel until inspected by management. - Ensure that all necessary safety equipment is available and in perfect working order. This includes life jackets, first aid kits, spinal board, oxygen, flares, fire extinguishers and all related safety equipment. - Ensure boats are kept clean, polished, fueled and presentable. - Ensure the mooring systems on the docks are well maintained and carry out repairs to include cleats, lazy-Lines, mooring whips, fenders and cushions. - To ensure guest and staff safety at all times. Refer any requests regarded as unsafe or any guests refusing to cooperate on safety issues to management. - Ensure docks are kept at an appropriate standard. - Organize and coordinate the use of boats.
