OUTDOOR PURSUIT ASSISTANT MANAGER ***Barbuda*** GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Outdoor Pursuits Assistant Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the entire marine fleet, alongside delivering world-class, safe, and memorable experiences for members, guests, and prospective clients. This role combines fleet management with hands-on operational leadership, requiring a highly experienced maritime professional with strong technical and mechanical expertise. The Assistant Manager will oversee vessel performance, maintenance, budgeting and marine operations whilst also leading guest-facing activities. Reports to: Outdoor Pursuits Director and Outdoor Pursuits Manager. Direct Reports: Outdoor Pursuit Guides, Boat Captains and Beach Attendants. ***ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** \- Ensure operational efficiency, readiness and performance of the fleet \- Oversee fuel management and cost control \- Preventative maintenance programmes \- Repairs and technical troubleshooting \- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues where possible \- Control inventory parts, equipment and supplies \- Ensure vessels meet the highest standards of performance, safety and presentation \- Oversee Outdoor Pursuits programming and daily operations \- Complete bookings and reservations in the OP Bookings system \- Charging members for services \- Writing of Schedules and Input of schedules into booking and payroll systems. \- Purchase orders and procurement. \- Ordering of supplies and submitting invoices to accounts \- Writing member itineraries \- Stock taking. \- Writing daily reports for Management \- Edit and write SOPs as needed. \- Regular drive arounds to check areas \- Reviewing and writing of budgets and putting together reports as needed. \- Greet members on arrival to OP and walk them to through watersports toys, activities and introduce them to the team \- Deliver guest excursions to a luxury-level service \- Lead, mentor and develop the Outdoor Pursuits team. \- Foster a high performance, safety first culture ***Employee related:*** \- Oversee & delegate duties to other staff and works alongside the staff \- Covers duties for manager on their days off \- Facilitating sporting and special events assist on setting up \- Maintain adherence to and stay abreast to any changes of the Employee Handbook \- Perform other duties throughout the Club as assigned \- All other duties assigned by management Member related: \- Maintain enthusiasm for sports and recreation while encouraging participation with members and guests \- Setting up and breaking down all equipment and areas used in activities/sports \- Assist and running Outdoor Pursuits services as required \- Greeting all members who enter OP areas. \- Seating the members, moving chairs and umbrellas accordingly \- Supplying members with towels \- Keeping towels and suntan lotion stocked at stations \- Helping members in and out of the water with water equipment \- Insuring safety of members and children in and around the pools and beach \- Assisting members and guests in all water sports and activities. Finance \- Work within an agreed sign off Matrix to control expenses / costs and facilitate purchasing alongside the Procurement team. \- Control costs and initiate cost saving ideas whilst maintaining the best of the member experience and safety standards. \- Work with the Procurement team to liaise with suppliers to create key relationships and establish competitive rates and prices for equipment, parts and services. \- Sign off on orders ensuring they are prepared correctly within Health and Safety \- Always work within the company statutory Health and Safety guidelines set by management team. \- Ensure you and the OP team always wear required PPE protection. \- Maintain a clean and safe working environment. \- Observe and abide by local pollution and COSHH regulations regarding disposal of waste materials, chemical and hazardous substances.
