About the role
**First Mate - 37m Private/Charter Motor Yacht**
**Start date:** Mid to late September
**Itinerary:** Winter in Italy for warranty work, possibly followed by Spain
**Salary:** €5,000-€6,000/month depends on qualifications + plus 44 days' leave.
We are looking for an active, experienced First Mate to join this 37m private yacht with a successful charter programme with returning guests. There are long-term growth opportunities, with a larger vessel planned.
The role combines navigational watches with hands-on deck work. The First Mate will drive jet tenders, support watersports, mentor the deckhand and help manage the yacht's mini-ISM procedures.
**Requirements**
- Minimum Yachtmaster Offshore; OOW modules completed are preferred
- Good navigational watch experience
- Excellent jet tender driving skills, including the ability to teach others
- Strong watersports experience
- Valid ENG1 or equivalent and STCW Basic Training
- Non-smoker
- AEC 1, drone and AV/IT skills are advantages.
The ideal candidate is positive, outgoing and reliable, communicates clearly and leads by example. They take pride in keeping the yacht in excellent condition and are just as happy washing windows as they are taking responsibility on the bridge.
