Yacht Aesthetics Manager (Shipboard)

POSITION SUMMARY The Yacht Aesthetics Manager is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall visual presentation of all interior and exterior guest-facing spaces on board, ensuring every detail aligns with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Gold Standards. This role plays a key part in protecting and enhancing the brand experience through immaculate surroundings and timely maintenance of finishes, furniture, fittings, and decorative features across public areas. Working as a vital team member this candidate must ensure that guests impressions and desires remain consistently in line with the RCYC gold standards. • Oversee the quality and condition of the vessel's interior and exterior fixtures and fittings within all Guest and Employee areas. This includes but is not limited to: synthetic teak decking, brightwork, glass, paint, interior furniture, marble, and hardwood flooring. • Conduct routine facility inspections across the vessel to systematically identify, document, and prioritize maintenance needs. • Generate maintenance logs, defect reports, and in-process reviews to ensure timely planning and scheduling of repairs or replacements. • Provide regular updates to the shore-based office, including daily defect reports, meeting minutes, server log entries, and progress updates on rectification actions. • Ensure all aesthetic and business-critical maintenance tasks are completed to luxury standards, fully aligned with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's brand philosophy. • Monitor guest areas proactively and communicate any cleanliness or maintenance feedback received from guests to the appropriate department heads for resolution. • Act as the primary onboard contact for all interior-related issues, ensuring timely intervention, troubleshooting, and resolution. • Enforce and support daily execution of deck maintenance and interior cleanliness plans, providing operational feedback to the Marine Operations department as needed. • Coordinate closely with external contractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budget limitations, and agreed scopes of work. • Ensure all Ladies and Gentlemen and contractors are properly equipped and briefed, responding swiftly to emergencies, maintenance disruptions, or unforeseen issues to minimize guest impact. • Promote and enforce compliance with all health and safety regulations, vessel codes of conduct, and brand standards as defined by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the maritime sector, or equivalent. • Previous experience within a luxury managerial role, either within the hotel, commercial, or design sector with knowledge of high-end finishes and details. • Three years' experience serving either onboard or in a luxury hotel environment, in a guest facing position. • Shipboard experience within a cruise ship / yacht background would be advantageous. • Proven record as a successful manager with a high degree of knowledge in all aspects of facilities maintenance, including safety/risk management, compliance, asset management, and fiscal responsibility. • The ability to understand and assess the impact of standards and defects on the guest's experience. • Knowledge and experience in conducting planning schedules and execute them with a timely manner. Acknowledging areas which require improving and revising tasks from previous errors. • Ability to integrate and communicate with multiple departments and stakeholders across the business. • Excellent knowledge of industry safety and operational best practices with the ability to create SOPs from scratch. • Excellent ability in building and maintaining vessel operational budgets. • Excellent team-building skills with well-developed communication and presentation skills. • Competency in Microsoft Office and planned maintenance software. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs, as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities, are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency, including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. COMMUNICATION All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
