Apply now Responsibilities As a First Captain, you are entrusted with the complete operation of the vessel. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and efficient passage from point A to point B. You are a skilled navigator, commanding the ship’s voyage with precision. Captains must be well-versed in the ship’s various components and proficient in its operation. This includes maintaining equipment on board and resolving any issues that arise. You will lead your crew, overseeing their performance and ensuring smooth operations throughout the journey. Effective communication, quick decision-making, and seamless navigation are essential skills for a First Captain, ensuring that every voyage is executed flawlessly. Furthermore, as a First Captain your key responsibilities are: • you oversee all vessel operations, including navigation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. • You efficiently manage multiple tasks, including administrative duties. • You develop and build strong teams. • You securely moor the ship and navigate through narrow spaces, such as locks, bridges, and rivers. • You take responsibility for the effective and safe operation of the vessel and its equipment, ensuring adherence to regulations. • You train new crew members in safety procedures. • You maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance in accordance with business guidelines. Skills & Requirements This job combines operational and policy-related responsibilities. Flexibility, stress resistance, professional competence, and social skills are all required for this job. 1st Captains must be competent in communication, administration, and problem-solving. They must be able to adapt to changing situations and respond quickly in an emergency.
