As a Lounge Technician with Princess Cruises, you will play a key role in delivering world-class entertainment experiences for our guests across multiple onboard venues. You will ensure all technical elements of lounge events and productions are delivered safely, smoothly, and to the highest standard. • Execute all technical aspects of events and productions in assigned lounges, always prioritizing guest safety and compliance with company procedures. • Operate audio systems confidently, including digital mixing consoles, playback devices, and associated equipment, ensuring clear, balanced sound for live music, hosted activities, and special events. • Set up, test, and strike band and performer equipment (e.g. microphones, amplifiers, Aviom systems, DI boxes, music stands, cables) to ensure all performances start on time and run smoothly. • Program and operate lighting systems for lounge venues, including MA lighting consoles, LED fixtures, and basic video playback and processing equipment, in line with show requirements and brand standards. • Support basic automation and stage systems, including operation of fire curtain, safety E‑Stop, screens, and curtains, escalating any issues promptly to the Senior Production Manager or Technical team. • Provide hands-on technical support for Guest Entertainers and onboard talent, including lighting, audio, A/V, and stage cueing, ensuring their requirements are understood and delivered. • Conduct pre‑show checks in assigned lounges (audio, lighting, video, staging, and safety) and resolve or report any defects before doors open. • Assist with routine maintenance, basic repairs, and fault reporting for lounge technical equipment, working closely with the Technical team to minimize downtime. • Maintain accurate technical documentation, inventory records, and handover notes so that information is clearly communicated between shifts and across the wider Entertainment team. • Collaborate closely with Supervisors, Music Managers, Company Managers, Vocal Captains, and Cruise Staff to coordinate event schedules, technical requirements, and last‑minute changes. • Coach and support stage staff and other teammates in safe handling and basic operation of lounge technical equipment, promoting best practices and company standards. • Uphold Princess Cruises’ entertainment standards by ensuring all lounge events reflect the brand’s look, feel, and sound, and by proactively suggesting improvements to enhance the guest experience. • Actively participate in safety drills, training, and briefings, and role‑model safe working practices in all lounge operations.

• Technical Production Expertise: Demonstrated experience working with professional audio, lighting, and A/V systems in live entertainment, theatre, events, or cruise environments, with a solid understanding of signal flow and show-ready setups. • Audio Systems Proficiency: Confident in operating digital mixing consoles, microphones, monitors, playback systems, and related outboard or software tools, with the ability to deliver clear, balanced sound for a variety of performances. • Lighting & Visual Control: Practical experience programming and operating lighting consoles (ideally MA Lighting), LED fixtures, and basic video playback/processing systems for live shows, events, and lounge environments. • Stage & Automation Awareness: Familiarity with stage mechanics and basic automation, including curtains, screens, safety E‑Stops, and fire curtain operation, with a strong focus on safe use and escalation of any issues. • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to quickly identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues under time pressure, maintaining show continuity wherever possible. • Live Entertainment Experience: Previous experience supporting bands, vocalists, guest entertainers, or comparable live acts, with an understanding of rehearsal processes, cueing, and performance etiquette. • Collaboration & Service Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively with performers, stage staff, and entertainment leadership, demonstrating a guest-focused mindset and a calm, professional approach. • Communication & Organization: Good command of the English language, both spoken and written, with strong organizational skills for planning setups, managing equipment, and maintaining accurate handover notes and records. • Safety & Compliance: Clear commitment to working safely, following company policies, Public Health, and shipboard safety procedures, and proactively identifying and reporting potential hazards or defects. • Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, shipboard environment with changing schedules, multiple venues, and diverse entertainment offerings, while remaining flexible, solutions-focused, and positive. • Cultural Awareness & Teamwork: Ability to thrive in a diverse, multicultural team, showing respect, openness, and professionalism in all interactions.
